"Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime"
For the person who has never flyfished before to anglers wishing to improve their watercraft and skill set - learn from an angler with a background in education and over 30 years flyfishing experience.
A basic course (6-8hours) will cover
Fly casting techniques

How to choose your gear and tackle
Stream entomology (the science of insects)
Proper fly selection
How to read water and currents
How to control your fly and line
How to play, land, and safely release fish
and include time on the water. A follow-up day is highly recommended and will be spent on stream. This is a perfect way to introduce children to the sport and timings can be negotiated to suit. We love parent/children days and can provide equipment for a small fee.
An intermediate course might focus on advanced nymphing techniques and the day spent fishing multiple sites learning the craft.
